No Gi Grappling

Submission grappling without the gi — takedowns, positional control and submissions drawn from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Sombo and Judo. Faster-paced and grip-free, it's the natural partner to our Gi classes. No experience needed.

About This Programme

What You'll Gain

No Gi Grappling at CFS covers takedowns, positional control, escapes and submissions — all without the gi, so grips come from the body rather than the jacket and the pace is faster. Training draws on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Sombo and Judo, and because our academy teaches each of these arts in its own right, No Gi students develop genuine depth rather than a watered-down mix.

Classes blend technique instruction, partner drilling and rolling (live sparring). Beginner classes are enrolling now, and you don't need any previous experience to start.

  • Takedowns, positional control, escapes and submissions
  • Grappling without the gi — faster pace, grips on the body not the jacket
  • Conditioning that builds real functional fitness
  • Depth from training each art with specialist instructors
  • A clear path for complete beginners

The academy has just got a lovely atmosphere, where it's as serious as it is relaxed and fun. Couldn't think of anywhere else better to train.

Natalie Pearson
There's no egos here, nice and friendly. Obviously you're learning your skills, you're getting conditioning.
